Vintage Air’s Hydra-Crimp Pro Wins 2026 Goodguys Top Honor

Vintage Air took home a 2026 Best New Product Award at the 28th Goodguys Summit Racing Nationals in San Antonio, and the win came down to one detail: the new Hydra-Crimp Pro (PN 424020) crimps OEM-quality beadlock A/C fittings right on the car. No bench machine, no walking a hose across the shop and back to see if the length still works.

What The Hydra-Crimp Pro Does

It’s a portable hydraulic crimper. Point it at the fitting, pull the handle, and it lays down an OEM-quality beadlock crimp under the hood or inside the cab, no bench machine involved. Anyone who has routed hose on a restoration or an engine swap knows what a stationary crimper costs you: you cut the line, walk it to the bench, crimp it, and find out it’s a half inch short of clearing the header. With the Hydra-Crimp Pro, the hose gets routed first and crimped second, right where it sits.

The kit handles Vintage Air’s #6, #8, and #10 standard barrier beadlock fittings, the #6, #8, #10, and #12 reduced barrier fittings, and OEM fittings as well. Interchangeable hardened steel dies do the actual work. Swap the die for the fitting size, seat the hose, pull the handle. That die choice is the whole ballgame, since a crimp too loose weeps and one too tight cuts into the hose wall.

Built To Travel

The whole kit, tool and every die, rides in a molded storage case instead of parking on a bench. A bench crimper ties a shop to one corner of the building. A case that closes and rides in a toolbox goes wherever the job is: a home garage with a two-post lift, a shop bay, a trailer at the track.

Why It Matters

Plenty of shops keep a bench crimper around even when it collects dust most of the year, because nobody wants to hand-fabricate a hose that lets go under pressure.
