Stolen C5 Corvette Crashes In Arkansas Police Chase
A new viral video has emerged showing a stolen C5 Corvette involved in a high-speed pursuit with Arkansas State Police. The incident occurred after law enforcement received reports of a stolen vehicle from a Walmart parking lot. The suspect in this Corvette police chase was believed to be under the influence and driving on a suspended license.
The Heat Is On!
This viral video was brought to our attention by GM Authority. According to the police report, an off-duty Pocahontas Police officer first spotted the vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 63 near Sedgwick. Moments later, dash cam footage from a pursuing Arkansas State Trooper captured the unfolding chase. The C5 Corvette, clearly modified with aftermarket wheels and custom bodywork, initially pulls over but then accelerates rapidly—reaching speeds up to 113 mph while weaving through traffic.
In The Ditch
At around the four-minute mark in the video, officers catch up to the car and issue verbal commands for the driver to stop. The suspect refuses and continues evading. Just before the five-minute mark, the trooper executes a textbook tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), commonly known as a PIT maneuver. The Corvette spins off the road and lands in a ditch. The driver attempts to flee again but is blocked by the officer’s patrol unit.
Following the maneuver, the suspect exits the vehicle and is taken into custody without further incident. The driver now faces a lengthy list of charges, including reckless driving, fleeing with substantial risk to others, driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended license, running a red light, and improper passing. Additionally, the Pocahontas Police Department is pursuing charges for vehicle theft.
Here at Car Junkie Mag, we love car mods of all types. As long as it’s for performance, we love it. That being said, we feel that “respect all builds” doesn’t always apply. And one of those times is the C5 Corvette in this video. This poor C5 has a tail light panel that mimics a Ferrari 355, a hood scoop trying to look like a Ferrari 575M, and horrible wheel fitment. We hate seeing performance cars crashed, but maybe this Corvette police chase is what it needed to be put out of its misery.
