Street Car Takeover 2026 Schedule Kicks Off 13th Season Nationwide
Street Car Takeover has officially released its 2026 event schedule, launching the series’ 13th season this weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The desert venue will serve as both the opening and closing stop of the year, with SCT returning to Phoenix in November to wrap up an action-packed 18-race calendar. Between those bookend events, the tour will crisscross the country, hitting tracks from Bakersfield, California to Gainesville, Florida, with major stops at well-known facilities such as Texas Motorplex, Beech Bend Raceway Park, Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway, and Nashville Superspeedway.

For more than a decade, Street Car Takeover has established itself as one of the premier grassroots motorsports series in the country. The formula is simple but effective: real street-driven cars competing in multiple disciplines, from roll racing and no-prep drag racing to car shows and burnout contests. Whether you’re into muscle cars, imports, bikes, or daily-driven builds, SCT has carved out a space that celebrates all corners of modern car culture. The announcement of the Street Car Takeover 2026 Schedule shows more growth for the popular event.

After wrapping up one of its strongest seasons to date, SCT co-founder and promoter Chase Lautenbach believes 2026 has the potential to raise the bar even higher. The season officially begins January 8 with an SCT Night Meet and Dyno Night at Cordes Performance in Tempe, Arizona, where prizes will be awarded to the highest-horsepower dyno pulls. Racing action follows the next night with an all-backside no-prep event featuring Small Tire and Daily Driver classes.
Street Car Takeover is coming out bigger and badder than ever. We are adding new tracks, new classes, and new rules that are more open to make it accessible for even more racers. We’re excited to get after it. – Chase Lautenbach
Saturday’s main event expands the lineup with a deep roster of classes, including Small Tire Shootout, Street Racer, Heavyweight, Unlimited Stick Shift, Extreme Street, Women and Wheels, Daily Driver, Daily Driver Mild, FWD Heads-Up, DCT, Bikes, and multiple Roll Racing categories. New for 2026 is the addition of the wildly popular Lil’ Gangstas class. Launched in 2023 by Michael Poland and Tom Gunner, better known as Jimmy Dale, the heads-up category runs on a 5.30 index with 28×10.5 slicks or 275 radials, prohibits wheelie bars and electronic aids, and keeps times hidden for pure, old-school competition.

What began as a grassroots concept has grown into a must-attend motorsports experience over the past 12 years. With continued growth in both fan attendance and racer participation, Street Car Takeover’s momentum shows no signs of slowing as it heads into its 13th season.
